Event Description:
DEI Collaborative: Leading Practices in Tackling Implicit Bias
Implicit bias is a form of bias that occurs automatically and unintentionally, that nevertheless affects judgments, decisions, and behaviors. Research has shown implicit bias can pose a barrier to recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce. This training will focus on how our brain wiring relies on mental shortcuts, and how these unconscious impulses impact our behaviors in ways that perpetuate disparities and inequity. We will focus on knowledge, tools, and strategies for interrupting individual bias, as well as dialogue about how to implement anti-bias strategies organization-wide.
