Event Description:
Join HYPE for an afternoon as we get outside, roll up our sleeves and help increase access to green space and healthy food at the Sankofa Community Orchard.
The Sankofa Community Orchard is a five‐acre green space dedicated to food justice and climate resiliency, consisting of over 80 fruit trees on the Southside of Richmond, Virginia. Volunteers will be planting vegetables and fruit trees and preparing grow areas for pollinator gardens.
Please dress to get dirty! All tools and supplies will be provided. Feel free to bring your own gloves.

During the event, we'll have the opportunity to explore the orchard, hear from Duron Chavis and help prepare the space for the spring and summer months.
After the event, you’re invited to join us for happy hour at a nearby restaurant after we finish at the Orchard. Details to be provided to attendees at the event.
